Our Story
Chef and Owner, Damian Salvatore, grew up in Bethesda and graduated from the La Academy de Cuisine in 1990 and has worked in award winning restaurants for Jean Louis and Robert Kincaid his entire life.
In 1998, Damian and his wife Stephanie opened their very first restaurant: Persimmon in Bethesda. After years of success and thriving with their 2nd restaurant, Wild Tomato – they still had the yearning to explore Damian’s Italian roots. In 2016, they opened a cozy neighborhood spot in Cabin John named Sal’s Italian Kitchen known for its good food and family festive vibe! Sal’s features the comfort classics while offering exciting daily specials to attract all palates. Come explore the lively bar full of local beer, wine and festive cocktail favorites!
